New Film Makers Los Angeles ( NFMLA) 2017
As a movie aficionado, I love going to film festivals and checking out new amazing cinema. So yesterday I checked out the New Film Makers Film Festival.
This year, the NFMLA presented a variety of interesting and entertaining movies, focusing on aging and the social distance in our modern culture.
The night ended by saving the best film for last, with the West Coast premiere of the feature movie “Delinquent” by Kieran Valla. I think it’s a great movie for us to see! Even though our kids are very young now, they will sooner or later grow up to be teenagers. It is important for us to understand all the trouble and problems teenagers can go through. On top of all that, this movie is VERY entertaining and clever!
“Delinquent is the thrilling and dramatic exploration of a teenager’s struggle to manage the fall-out of a robbery gone wrong.”

I was especially thrilled to run into teen pop-star and anti-bullying/ mental health advocate, Meredith O’Connor. You probably know her from her hit songs like “Celebrity” or “Just the thing”. She is not just amazingly talented but is also a real inspiration! She truly cares and is extremely motivated about speaking against anti-bullying. Having been a victim of bullying herself, she brings credibility and power to inspire millions of teenagers who are also going through the same thing. She should be an example to all of us! She reminded me again that if you are strong and don’t give up, you can get through anything!
